After a long wait, we’re excited to officially announce that cherries are finally arriving at Novakovich Orchards!
This afternoon — Monday, May 18th — George headed down to Morgan Hill during lunch to pick up fresh Black Pearl cherries from some of our longtime local farmer friends. Unfortunately, our own cherry crop was very minimal this year, but we’re incredibly thankful to work with other local growers so we can still bring cherries to all of you this season.
We expect to have 1.5 lb baskets available either later this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning, Tuesday, May 19th.
Cherry Information:
Variety: Black Pearl
Basket Size: 1.5 lbs
Price: $14.50 per basket
At this time, Black Pearl cherries will be the only variety we’ll have available. Availability may vary from day to day, so we’ll be posting updates each morning on our Instagram and Facebook pages to let everyone know whether cherries will be available that day.
Cherry season is always one of our favorite times of year, and we’re so excited to see everyone back at the fruit stand again!
Remembering George Sr. Novakovich ❤️

Today, May 18th, would have been George Sr. Novakovich’s 101st birthday.
As many of you know, George Sr. played such an important role in building the orchard into what it is today. His hard work, dedication, and love for farming helped create the traditions that our family continues to carry on each season.
It feels especially meaningful that cherry season is beginning right around his birthday — a reminder of the generations of family, farming, and community that continue to make Novakovich Orchards so special.
We are grateful every day for the foundation he built and for all of the wonderful memories shared here at the orchard over the years.
Apricot Season Update 🍑
Our apricots are still ripening beautifully on the trees, and with the mild weather forecast expected through the rest of May, everything seems to be progressing right on schedule.
Right now, we are estimating that apricots should be ready around mid-June. Of course, Mother Nature always has the final say, and we’ll continue monitoring the fruit closely over the next few weeks. If it looks like the season may start any earlier, we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.
While we know many of you are eagerly waiting for apricot season, the cooler and milder temperatures are actually helping the fruit develop slowly and naturally, which typically leads to excellent flavor and quality.
We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy another delicious apricot season with us soon!
Summer Event Reminders ☀️
As summer approaches, we also wanted to share a quick reminder about two fun community events we’ll be attending this year.
Blossom Festival — Saturday, June 13
We’re excited to once again be part of the Blossom Festival on Saturday, June 13 from 10 AM to 4 PM. This is always such a fun community event, and we love getting the chance to connect with so many of you in person.
We’ll have a stand set up featuring a selection of our fresh products along with some of our preserved favorites. If you’re attending, please stop by, say hello, and support local growers — we’d truly love to see you there.
Saratoga Classic & Cool Car Show — Sunday, July 26
Mark your calendars for one of the highlights of the summer! We’ll be back at the 15th Annual Saratoga Classic & Cool
Car Show on Sunday, July 26 from 10 AM to 4 PM.
As always, we’ll be serving our crowd-favorite Peaches & Cream, and we can’t wait to bring that tradition back again this year. It’s one of our favorite events, and we look forward to seeing so many familiar faces come out to support us.
Thank you, as always, for being part of our orchard community. Your support means everything to our family, and we’re looking forward to another season of fresh fruit, local events, and shared traditions here at Novakovich Orchards. 🍒🍑
