Cherry Season Continues, Plums Have Arrived & Apricot Season Is Almost Here! šŸ’šŸ‘ā˜€ļø

As we head into the first week of June, the orchard is beginning to transition into some of our favorite summer fruits, and there are lots of exciting updates to share!

šŸ’ Lapins Cherries Available Now

We currently have Lapins CherriesĀ available at the fruit stand.

Many customers ask how Lapins cherries compare to Bing cherries, and while they look similar, there are a few differences:

  • Lapins cherries are typically largerĀ than Bing cherries.

  • They tend to be slightly sweeterĀ with lower acidity, making them extra juicy and flavorful.

  • Their flesh is firm and meaty, making them excellent for snacking fresh.

  • Lapins cherries also tend to be a little more resistant to cracking, which helps them stay beautiful and delicious on the tree.

If you've been enjoying our Bing cherries this season, we highly recommend giving the Lapins variety a try before the season comes to an end!

Speaking of cherry season, we expect cherries to be available through at least part of this week, but availability is becoming more limited as the season begins to wind down. Some days we'll have plenty, while other days inventory may be more limited depending on what is ready to pick.

As always, we'll continue posting daily fruit updates on our social media pages.

šŸ’œ Santa Rosa Plum Season Has Officially Begun!

Santa Rosa Plums slowly starting to ripen on the tree!
Santa Rosa Plums slowly starting to ripen on the tree!

We're excited to share that we received our first tray of Santa Rosa plumsĀ this week, marking the official start of plum season at Novakovich Orchards.

Santa Rosa plums are known for their beautiful reddish-purple skin, amber-red flesh, and perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. They're delicious eaten fresh and are often considered one of the most flavorful plum varieties available.

We'll continue bringing in more as the season progresses, so keep an eye out for them at the fruit stand!

šŸ‘ Blenheim Apricot Season Is Right Around the Corner

The wait is almost over!

This week, we're beginning to spot pick a few Blenheim apricotsĀ as they continue ripening on the trees. As of today,

Sunday, May 31, we do not yet have apricots available for sale at the fruit stand, but they're changing color quickly and getting closer every day.

If Mother Nature cooperates, we expect the season to begin very soon. Blenheim apricots are one of our most anticipated fruits of the year, known for their incredible sweetness, rich flavor, and vibrant orange color.

Stay tuned—we'll be announcing their arrival as soon as they're ready!

ā˜€ļø Summer Events Are Almost Here

One of our favorite parts of the season is getting to see members of our community outside of the fruit stand, and we're excited to participate in a couple of wonderful Saratoga traditions this summer.

You'll be able to find us at:

🌸 The Saratoga Blossom Festival — Saturday, June 13 | 10 AM – 4 PM

šŸš— The 15th Annual Saratoga Cool & Classic Car Show — Sunday, July 26 | 10 AM – 4 PM

Whether you're stopping by to enjoy classic cars, local vendors, community festivities, or simply spending the day in beautiful downtown Saratoga, we'd love for you to come say hello. These events are always a highlight of our summer and a wonderful opportunity to connect with both longtime customers and new friends.

Thank you for continuing to support our family orchard. We can't wait to share the rest of the summer harvest with you!
